Where DO I begin?

On a day like today, where does any blogger begin? I don't even know where to start. Barack/Hillary debate, who won, who lost? The economic slowdown and stagflation, what does it mean? Is Barack down with Farrakhan?

Starbucks closes its stores for three hours to retrain their baristas? Hmm....that's the ticket. That's where I'll start. As someone who used to work for Starbucks I know that we used to boast that all employees received over 24 hours of training on espresso preparation standards, the "Perfect Shot" (it's 18-23 seconds by the way to produce the perfect crema) but that's TMI. Too much information. Again, the Brother waxed nostalgic and digressed. I must focus here. There is a coffee giant to whip up on.

Now then, back to my pontification. We trained all baristas for 24 hours to ensure that they knew beyond a doubt how to make a cup of coffee. Only takes about 10 minutes with a Mr. Coffee but a Mr. Coffee isn't nearly as sexy as walking down the street with your Starbucks cup. So the well trained barista walks boldly into the Starbucks cyber cafe prepared and ready to make that perfect shot. Unfortunately, something happened on the way to the espresso bar. What was it?

Again, that nasty little "pride" bug raised it's ugly head in the Starbucks heirarchy. Key leaders Howard Behar and Orin Smith left the company and Howard went on to be the Chief Global Strategist which sounds like a role that is further from the voice of the customer if you're asking the Brother. They believed their own press and thought no one could touch them. And now, as they look back over the last few months and face a real economic slowdown for the first time in Starbucks recent history they are faced with the reality of dealing with "highbrow" staff that is no longer connected to what made Starbucks great, corporate leadership that cares only about maximizing value (that is NOT a bad thing, they just forgot the right way to do it) and customers who have to make tough decisions about whether they can spend $4 for a cup of coffee when Dunkin or McDonalds will gladly sell them a good cup of joe for less than a buck.

And now, Howard Schultz believes that closing the stores for three hours to retrain the already 24 hour trained baristas will somehow return the baristas to the company's roots. Howard, I always liked and respected you when I worked at Starbucks and I still think you are an incredible business leader and visionary. However, all that will do is reduce your already shrinking sales by oh, what, 3 hours of sales times 7,000 stores? You do the math Howard. And what will those regular 5:30-8:30 customers be doing during those three hours? Do you think they will be somewhere meditating on the return of Starbucks to it's roots? NO! They are somewhere else giving revenues to one of your competitors who are just rubbing their hands at your store closures! The guys at Dunkin just added you to their Christmas Card for Life Club!

Never send the customers into the waiting arms of your competition! That's "business in the trenches 101". You just don't do that. You're allowing your customers to form new shopping habits when you send them to your competition! Sheesh Howard! Let's get it together bro! I'm still pulling for you here!

Do you want to get back on top Howard? Get out of the corporate office. Go to the stores. Don't do the whole entourage thing. Just go alone and talk to the partners and customers. They will gladly and respectfully tell you what needs to be done. Many partners still care and still remember. This should be a time for greatness for Starbucks. The values of the company are exactly what this country needs at a time like now. A "Third Place". A familiar face. A sense of warmth and comfort. Provide those things....and people will find a way to pay $4 bucks again for a cup of coffee.

And they'll be happy to do it....

Best wishes to you Starbucks.

PT Barnum Was Right!

I believe it was the great circus-man PT Barnum of Barnum and Bailey fame who said "there is no such thing as bad publicity, any publicity is good publicity!" Now don't hold me to the exact wording on that quote but old PT's point is well taken.

Essentially what PT understood is that any publicity that brings attention to your name can be used in your favor. And that is precisely what the Clinton camp is up to now. Now watch this very carefully: Since the last public debate between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton there has been a marked increase in the amount of news surrounding Hillary. Of course Barack is sucked into the news but this is clearly a case of Hillary initiating the attack in an all out last ditch effort to throw Obama-momentum off course and to attract attention to herself.

Clinton and her staffers understand that any publicity is good publicity. These are no simpletons that we're dealing with here. The increased volume of news initiated by her has lept off of the charts in the last couple of days. She is clearly initiating more news reports than we've seen in the previous 2-3 weeks. First, she's snarling at the camera over the Obama attack mailers that went out in Ohio, then she's mocking Obama in Rhode Island (new tactic) and now her campaign leaked a photo of Obama in African dress. How do I know her campaign leaked the photo? Because neither Clinton nor any of her senior staffers could deny the leak with a straight face.

Here's something else very slick that the Clinton campaign is doing. Pay attention because this is slick and points to their understanding of how the mind works. Although Sen. Clinton has come out and said she even wore native dress when she visited other countries and saw nothing wrong with Obama's Shaka Zulu get up; what they have very cleverly accomplished is subliminally reinforced the message to undecided voters that Obama is a closet Muslim. They have hyponotically implanted an image in voters minds that can't be erased: Obama looks like a terrorist and has a name that sounds like a terrorist. They distract the voters with messaging that says "we're with Obama and we agree that this is an outrage" but they have already done their damage by getting that image in front of us. The Clintons have gotten us to let down our conscious guard by stating that they see no problem with the image and then once that guard is down they slip in the picture which is now embedded in the subconscious mind. On an conscious level, we agree that there is no problem with the picture but at a deeper level we are now associating Obama with terrorism. And that deeper level is where most decisions come from. I know this may sound deep but you gotta stick with me here.

Can you see just how devious this is? This is real talent folks and I must confess that The Brother on the Right has truly underestimated the depth of the Clinton's brilliance. This is an absolutely drop dead smart tactic and it could mean the difference between victory and defeat.

The tactic is to immediately denounce the picture (that you leaked) as outrageous to show your support for your opponent while at the same time planting an image in the voters minds that this guy is aligned with our enemies. Notice how all of this is precisely designed with the announcement of Ralph Nader's entrance into the race which could potentially weaken Obama's young "new voter" base. The timing is just too good to be coincidence.

Slick Hillary. Very slick. We should all pay attention and watch. We are witnessing true genius at work here.

"Oh, Brother on the Right, you're getting too conspiracy theory for me!" Am I now? Well consider this skeptical friends. This Obama photo was taken TWO YEARS ago! Obama was on an official visit to Kenya as a newly elected member of Congress. This picture has been a part of the official and public record for two years. Why would the Clinton campaign leak it now? They could have leaked it six months ago but then Obama wasn't on Clinton's radar as a viable candidate so why bother? Now that Hillary's back is against the wall they are pulling out all of the stops and this shows their level of desperation.

Next, look for some edited photos showing Barack firing AK-47 Assault Rifles into a desert. It will be an obvious cut and paste job buuuuut it will reinforce the image of Barack the Terrorist. You won't see any pictures of Barack in Austria wearing Lederhosen or in Scotland wearing a Kilt. Oh no, only controversial pictures will do here. They may even dig up some pictures of "radical Barack" wearing an Afro wig while holding up the Black Power fist. Did you know he was also a member of the Black Panthers as a two year old? Oh yeah, he was chasing all of the other two year old Hawaiians around forcing them to sing along to James Brown's "Say it Loud, I'm Black and I'm Proud!" This was shortly before the point in Barack's life when the Clintons tell us that a young kindergarten Barack first revealed his nefarious intentions of being the first black President of the United States and making us all sing the Negro National Anthem.

If a picture of Hillary showed up with her wearing African dress Bill would immediately run to a black church and show it off to show just how "black" the Clintons are. It would show us that they are really "down" with the struggle. Any truth to the rumor Bill was last seen asking Rev. Jesse Jackson to show him how to do "The Electric Slide"?

Nader Jumps In! WHY?

Hillary Clinton just received the best news of her campaign: Consumer Advocate and perennial presidential campaign loser Ralph Nader just entered the presidential race. Why? Only God knows but it's certain that the voters that Nader usually attracts are part of Barack Obama's base. Young, college age voters are votes that both of them will share. If this dem race gets close (and it still can) Nader can mean the difference between victory and defeat for Sen. Clinton. Hmm...I wonder if she asked Ralph to run? But I digress.

You may be aware that Nader runs almost every election season not because he really thinks he has a snowball's chance in you know where of winning but because he believes it helps him get his message out. He may also be vicariously living out his own presidential aspirations through the other candidates, but I'm not here to analyze Ralph.

The reality of his entrance into any race is that he has the serious potential to play the "spoiler" role and in this case he is more likely to spoil Obama's chances than Hillary's. Nader runs behind the mantle of his Green Party which ostensibly is enviro-consumer friendly and is sure to attract votes from the extreme left wing of the democratic party. Years ago he started out as a fairly mainstream (albeit left leaning) "good guy" who was out to help the consumer. He was here to help the "regular Joe Bag o' Donuts" guy. (He ensured we all received the high quality donuts that we as Americans are entitled to...) And in some regards I recollect that he did blow the whistle in a good way on some occasions. He led consumer watchdog groups that helped to ensure that companies presented high quality consumer goods that were safe and delivered on their advertising message. But somewhere along the line (probably the Jimmy Carter era) Nader went a little goofy and is now spends most of his time hugging penguins or something.

He still runs for prez every four years in some attempt to reinforce his relevancy to the American public. His late entry into this race in which he knows he stands ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE OF WINNING can only mean one thing: he enjoys his brief moment of publicity every four years and he thinks he can play a spoiler role. (Ok, that was two things but I'm typing fast here.) He'll actually get some votes too: Obama votes. That's why Hillary is doing the "happy dance" right now. She just put Nader on her "Christmas Card for Life" list. He's also on the list of "least likely to be audited" if Hillary gets elected.

Good one Ralph. As usual, you show up with no real chance of winning but you do get your "save the penguins" message out to mainstream America where it really matters.

See you again in 2012!

Clinton Blasts Obama

Faced with certain defeat if she does not win the Ohio and Texas Primaries, Sen. Hillary Clinton went after Sen. Obama BIG TIME today while campaigning in Ohio. Evidently, Hillary realized that she has absolutely nothing to lose by going after Barack so she let lose with both barrels regarding some mailers from the Obama Campaign.

All of her attacks in the past have backfired against her but this one could work in her favor. Time will tell. It's not terribly different from New Hampshire when she cried the night before when she saw her career dissapation light flashing in strobe like fashion. Today in Ohio, what she displayed was anger. Emotion from Hillary has helped her in the past and I'm wondering if this show of emotion will help her again.

The mailers were about Bill Clinton's NAFTA deals (a sticky problem in Union heavy Ohio) and Hillary's disastrous proposal for universal health care. The Obama campaign defended the mailings and unblinkingly stood by their contentions. So, could Clinton just be using this as an opportunity to show some emotion disguised as outrage at the "untrue" remarks in the Obama mailings? She has nothing to lose by trying it.

Mark my words friends...this is all typical Clinonesque smoke and mirrors. If anything Obama played into her hands by giving her another chance to use the emotion button on voters.

Watch for yourself. And then you determine if this is the kind of leader you want to trust your family with....

It's almost shoutin' time!

After reviewing some footage from last night's democratic debate in Austin, TX. a number of things are plainly evident:

1) Hillary doesn't know when she's beaten
2) She doesn't learn a lesson very well
3) She has grossly underestimated the wishes of the American People and the strength of her competition.
4) It won't be long before The Brother on the Right will shouting to see her demise and dance on the ashes of her campaign

Oh, we'll see her again in four years no doubt and she will be tougher, wiser and smarter then buuut at least we'll have four more years of peaceful, Hillary-less, BLISS!

As usual she went on the attack against Obama with the Xerox comment which brought about a chorus of "boos." She actually looked stunned that the crowd would boo her! It was like "how dare those cretin's boo me!" This woman just doesn't get it! Many people just do not like her style and NEVER WILL! Apparently she thinks that her pithy remarks are supposed to bring cheers. What she fails to realize is that every time she pulls something like that it only reinforces her "Dragon Lady" perception and further alienates her from voters.

This of course is further compounded by the defection of her Superdelegates in droves to the Obama campaign. We're watching the implosion of a American dynasty. This is good. Say it with me...the end of the Clinton Era is good for America and good for the world. It's time for the end of this shameful episode in our history.

Watch Hillary caught up on her own hypocrisy. This is good!

That's the best they can do?!

Of course by now everyone knows that presidential politics is a contact sport and that any candidate should expect shots and even low blows from their blind side. Opponents will dig up anything they think will throw other candidates out of contention and if they can't find anything legitimate they may actually make up something. Ask Dan Rather why he left CBS.

Well today we've reached a new low. The New York Times actually printed a story about an alleged affair between Sen. John McCain and a lobbyist that at this point amounts to nothing more than locker room hearsay and yet they are willing to make a feeble attempt to ruin a man's reputation. What makes the NYT look even more STUPID is that they just ENDORSED Sen. McCain last month. I read a funny quote earlier today that said "The New York Times is giving The National Enquirer a bad name." So true. The Times has sunk well below pure unadulterated trash. This is absolute tabloid journalism from the Times and they should be embarrassed at how far they've allowed themselves to sink.

How they can pretend to maintain any sense of credibility is way beyond me. If Sen. McCain doesn't sue them for libel or defamation of character they should consider themselves fortunate.

This story was printed without any witnesses, no quotes from anyone, no corroborating evidence of any kind; in fact it was a speculative rumor from over nine years ago! Unfortunately, this sort of irresponsible reporting is what is giving all journalism a bad name and the Times should show some sense of decency and print a retraction and an apology to John McCain.

He deserves much better than this!

What's that sound?

That huge WHOOSHING sound you just heard was not the USS Lake Erie firing it's Aegis missiles at the derelict US satellite hurtling towards Earth. It was the sound of the energy and enthusiasm leaving the Clinton campaign and rushing over in ever increasing numbers to the Obama campaign.

Barack Obama just pummeled Hillary Clinton in Wisconsin this evening and presumably in Hawaii whose results we'll review in the morning. What is even more key and obvioiusly more exciting for Obama supporters is that Barack won by a landslide in a state that is over 90% white and in every single key Clinton demographic with the exception of the elderly, and that is probably because Clinton is one of them.

Clinton is still projected to do well with Texas Hispanics on March 4th but I believe that is because somewhere along the line her campaign started a rumor that her maternal great grandmother was a Mexican immigrant. I hear that she is now contemplating starting a rumor that her paternal great grandfather is from Kenya. More to follow.

I just listened to Barack's 45 minute victory speech at the Toyota Center in Houston, TX. and I am compelled to say that Barack is actually adding more and more "meat on the bone" in his speeches. He is outlining his intentions as President and they are sounding more centrist than ever before. While many of his ideas are clearly left-wing, he also hit some fairly conservative notes with his appeal to control our borders and provide a strong defense for America as Commander in Chief.

Even John McCain sees Obama as the presumptive Democratic nominee. It is certain the the Wisconsin voters did this evening. They overwhelmingly indicated in exit polls that he is much more electable than Hillary Clinton.

Fact: Hillary Clinton is losing relevance as a potential nominee.
Fact: Every attack she makes against Obama ultimately backfires against her.
Fact: Both Texas and Ohio were huge leads for her as little as several days ago. Now her leads in both states are dwindling by the day.

Why? She has no ability to inspire passion, creativity and hope in the American people. Those are some of the key principles our nation was founded upon. She represents politics as usual and Americans are sick of it. As I mentioned in an earlier post, people vote from emotion, passion and belief in somemone more than anything else. That is why it is so hard to change a voters mind once they have emotionally committed to a candidate. Herein lies Obama's strength...he possesses to ability to capture the Independents and undecideds. Clinton struggles with undecideds. She is working from a very limited and finite base. Obama is working from a potentially unlimited base.

This is why he will ultimately win the Democratic nomination. Hillary will not gain many more new voters. Barack will gain millions of new voters because people are buying into the hope and inspiration that he offers. And Americans want to be part of a winning team. It's becoming "hip" to vote Obama. Even in "white" states like Wisconsin.

For my two cents, all politics aside, I have always been extremely proud to be an American. Today, I have never been prouder to see so many people looking past race to vote for someone they believe in.

This...this is why America is great. We're far from perfect, but to see this immense support for a black man in this country...is breathtaking.

Now your vote is irrelevant!

I just can't help myself. As much as I'd like to comment on something or someone else, it seems like everyday the Clinton campaign does or says something so outrageous that it just requires my attention and comments.

In yet another blatantly brazen display of hubris and total disregard for the will of the voters, the Clinton campaign has stated that Sen. Clinton will win the democratic nomination regardless of the wishes of the voters.

I wish I was only kidding. If we need any more evidence of the coming planned fascist state that the Clintons want to foist upon us then we are completely numb and blind to what it happening. This is the closest thing I have ever seen to a takeover of the will of the people and the US government. I think our nation is on the verge of something sinister and dangerous. We should pay attention to this. I'm hoping to wake up any minute now and realize that this national nightmare known as the Clintons was only a very bad dream.

Hillary now says that the will of the voters is 'irrelevant'. Don't believe me? Just read this story.

This story is crystal clear proof from Clinton's senior advisor that they have absolutely no intention whatsoever of honoring the wishes of the voters. Remember my earlier post that Hillary believes she knows what's best for us? Well, if anyone thought that was just irrational ranting and raving, now I can step back and let Hillary do the dirty work for me. She thinks that the American people have no idea what is best for them and that we need her to guide us and do our thinking for us.

What is the point in voting if party insiders are going to make the decisions for the democrats? Are Barack Obama's efforts wasted because a few insiders winked at each other and gave the nod to Hillary? Will the dems disregard Barack's candidacy even though recent polling data indicate that he will defeat John McCain in the general election and Hillary won't even come close to beating McCain?

I know the democrats frequently disregard logic and reason in their thought process but this is the height of insanity for them. They are actually contemplating the permanent alienation of every voter who voted for Barack Obama, and practically every black person in the US to nominate Hillary when they know she can't beat McCain! They will pass up Obama who can win to nominate Hillary who can't. What part of that makes sense? I'm still waiting....all I hear is crickets in the background.

So, as usual this requires The Brother on the Right to get at what's underneath this crazy reasoning from the dems. And, because the root cause is so easily seen, heck, it's so easily seen a blind man can see it with both eyes closes and his hands over his face; it doesn't require a lot of analysis to identify it. What we are witnessing is what the dems have tried to hide for many, many years. Racism. And I'm not know for using the "R" word because it is too frequently used as a cop out for lack of personal responsibility but friends, this is pure racism at its worst. It's so bad that the dems aren't even trying to hide it. Harold Ickes just said that the Obama voters were "irrelevant". He said it not me. He is saying that the Civil Rights movement just stopped today so that Hillary can be nominated for President. They were ok with all of that Civil Rights stuff as long as it didn't get in the way of Hillary's nomination.

Once those uppity so and so's started voting for Obama, then someone need to put a stop to it and put them back in their place.

But be of good cheer. Since I am a "glass half full" kind of guy I have naturally seen the silver lining to this cloud of racism. When the Clintons attempt to pull this back room deal of seating the Michigan and Florida delegates, and negating the will of the voters, millions and millions of people will finally see the Clintons for what they truly are and then, then my friends I believe we will be rid of them forever. Perhaps we can get to work on real issues. These shenanigans will alienate so many people that I don't think the Clintons will ever be able to recover. They are so far removed from "real people" in their lives that they can't see the freight train that will hit them when they attempt to pull this garbage. And once again, The Brother on the Right will pull up his Barcalounger, put on my slippers, tell Rover to get my remote and enjoy a bucket of popcorn while I watch the end of their hypnotic hold on millions of good people.

Waterboarding is the New Skateboarding

Congress is allowing our ability to spy on our enemies expire due to lack of support on Capitol Hill. They are also going to disallow the practice of waterboarding. I'm ok with this. Really I am. I think our enemies need all of the advantages they can get. After all, us bad Americans shouldn't have made them mad. I'm fine with less security and no answers about attacks planned against us all in the name of playing fair.

Al-Qaeda played fair when they murdered 3000+ Americans on 9/11. We should be fair also right? I think they were perfectly reasonable when they crashed planes into WTC, The Pentagon and a field in Shanksville, PA.

I hope you sense the dripping sarcasm here. Any enemy that changes the rules and refuses to put on a uniform should be dealt with in the harshest manner possible to extract answers that could save American lives. Our lives. Waterboarding? Please! That should be the introductory method of getting information. From there it just gets worse.See Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia's opinion...

At a practical level a very basic and fundamental question has to be asked: Are you OK with mild and gentle interrogation techniques at the possible expense of the lives of your family? If you learn that a detainee possessed information that would have saved your loved ones lives, would you be happy knowing that we could have easily extracted information that would have save their lives if we had used more agresssive interrogation techniques?

Is this what we have come to? Don't listen to our enemies conversations and don't talk harshly to them all in the name of being nice to Al-Qaeda? We are effectively allowing our enemy to walk right over us (literally and figuratevely) by eliminating our ability to eavesdrop and to use stringent interrogation measures.

I sincerely hope the CIA and any other interrogating authorities IGNORE Congress and do WHATEVER IT TAKES to get information that could save American lives. They have my permission to do so. Waterboarding should be entry level interrogation. It should be considered so mild that it will be equated to Skateboarding to a detainee.

Honestly, I don't care what our guys have to do to get information that could save my family. If the towel-heads are about to blow up a bomb right inside my city and we have a guy who could tell us that then I expect our officials to start with Waterboarding or anything else and then start dropping guys off of buildings if they need to.

We need to wake up to reality in this age. There are people in this world and in this country who want to destroy us and will stop at nothing to do it. They'd torture us in a HEARTBEAT if it would support their agenda. The fact that we are not willing to defend ourselves and precious American lives by any means necessary shows that we have lost our will to fight, stand up to fascism and look terror in the eye and spit back!

What Hillary Must Do To Win...

I'm starting feel bad for Hillary. If you think about it, at this point in the campaign she is supposed to be cruising to the nomination and naming her running mate. She should be shopping for her latest designer suit for her inauguration in January. She's supposed to be making the talk show circuit accepting the congratulations of the hosts and basking in the adoration of the masses.

Uh, Hillary have you awakened from your dream yet? You're in a dogfight and pulling out all of the stops just to stay alive for another three weeks. You're 11 points behind in the NATIONAL POLLS and absolutely need to win Texas, Ohio and Pennsylvania to stay in this race. Your opponent has won 23 states to her 11 and is still peaking as his momentum and cash build.

Right now, you must think you're in some sort of nightmarish dream. And all when you had just hired an interior decorator to redesign the Oval Office. You also had to cancel the contract for a portrait of yourself to mount on the wall. How dare Obama challenge your ascension to the throne?

Well it's OK Hill-ree because The Brother on the Right wouldn't support you if the fate of the free world depended on it (oh, that's right it does!) but I am still a gentleman and feel badly about seeing Obama hitting you with so many left hooks it'll take you three days in an airplane to get back.

Here's some real advice. I'm being totally serious here. If Hill-ree follows this advice she can still possibly win the Dem nomination. First, stop chasing the black vote. Ain't gonna happen. The black vote is emotionally tied to Barack and no amount of skinnin' and grinnin' and collard green eatin' by your husband is going to change that. Stop trying to say "sista-girl" and "ya'll" because it only makes you look well...silly. And it's insulting. It doesn't matter if you get the NAACP endorsement, the Congressional Black Caucus endorsement, the Harlem Globetrotters endorsement, Jesse's endorsement, you fill in the blank. I don't care whose endorsement you chase after. The black vote is Barack's. No, blacks aren't blindly voting Barack just because he's black, but what you fail to realize is that the black vote is heavily weighted towards him due to the historical significance of the occasion. You can not penetrate 400 years of hope. There is a unprecedented sense of hope arising in the black community and many blacks don't want to miss the opportunity to vote for a viable black candidate. No, not even you can change that.

If you keep wasting time chasing the black vote you will foolishly continue to lose your already weakening base. You have got to consolidate your eroding base while you still have a base to consolidate. The brothers ain't voting "Hillary". Get over it. Show me a brother in the hood with a "Hillary" sticker on the bumper of his "hoop-dee" and I'll show you a chump about to get pulled from his ride to get a beat down. He'll ride away on a tricycle if he's lucky. That bumper will be shoved into an unwelcome place on his anatomy. I'm just keeping it real Hill-ree! You do want to be "down" don't you?

Focus on strengthening the latino vote, lower income white vote, white women vote and the elderly vote. Barack is cutting deeply into your base because your hoping that a photo op of Bill wearing an afro wig will get you over. Nope.

Take it from a brother...we ain't with you. That's "brother" for we are not voting for you. Just in case you try to talk black again. Oh, and don't go out and get extensions and start rolling your neck and practicing black skills. Don't show up on Tyra Banks show trying to dance. We don't like that. Work on your spanish and join AARP. That might help you survive the next three weeks.

Just being a gentleman!

Why I Agree With Al...

It has been a year of "first's" and today I have experienced another "first" that I thought I would never see. But first allow me to set the stage. In 2007 we saw the installation of our "first" woman Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. In this year we are now seeing our first woman or black democratic nominee for President of the United States. And today is the first ever time that I have ever agreed with Rev. Al Sharpton about anything...ever...in life...for all time....period. What's even scarier is that I even agree with his thought process and methodology. I am certain that Earth is about to crash into Saturn at any minute now. Either I have gone completely koo-koo or Al is taking sanity pills. I'm not sure which. What I do know is that he is actually making a point worth listening to and I suuuuuhhh...ssspppp....sptptptp.....supporrrr....support him. There, I said it. (Or wrote it. If I had been speaking I might have choked out loud.) This is a truly remarkable red letter day.

Before today Al would have had a hard time getting me to agree with him that Sunday is the first day of the week or that James Brown was the Godfather of Soul yet his stance on the democratic nomination process that is about to be hijacked (as usual) by the Clintons is right on the mark.

Prior to the Michigan and Florida primaries, the dem candidates, Obama, Clinton and Edwards all agreed not to campaign in those states. Both states actually moved their primary dates up into mid-January and as a result, those states delegates were removed as their penalty by the DNC. This penalty is an established by-law of the Democratic National Committee. This is not a new penalty that they just came up with. It is a long established penalty designed to ensure that states adhere to their primary dates. All of the democratic candidates agreed not to campaign and were supposed to focus their efforts and cash somewhere else.

Well, guess who broke the rules? You know who...that's right. Holier than thou Hillary still campaigned in the states that she had previously agreed not to campaign in. Obama and Edwards weren't even on the ballot in Michigan. Shucks, I could have won in Michigan with no competition. It's no surprise that Hillary won in both of those states and it has been a hollow victory because there were no delegates at stake. Until Clinton advisors, Carville, Ickes and the whole gang of usual suspects began lobbying the party to change the rules for Hillary now that Obama is making a mockery of her campaign.

That's right, the Clintons are bending or should I say obliterating the rules to suit their needs....again. If/when they coerce the DNC to seat those delegates in Hillary's favor, she will once again enjoy a lead for the nomination. Never mind those pesky rules or previous agreements that don't work in her favor. This is the Clinton Rules and what she wants she gets...at any cost.

This is where Rev. Al comes in. He's supporting Obama and is threatening to take legal action and protest at the DNC headquarters if the Clintons pull off their back room deal to win the nomination. I'm rooting for Al on this one because he's right. Way to go Al! I never thought The Brother on the Right would be behind Al on anything.

This is further evidence that Sen. Clinton can not be trusted. She will not keep her word if it doesn't support her agenda. She will do or say anything to get elected. And she is so brazen about it because she thinks she is untouchable and that this is her election and no one can take it away from her.

What she fails to realize is that the American People are not cattle, we're not stupid and we refuse to be her subjects. She is so completely unfit to lead that I believe our country would face disastrous consequences if we made the mistake of elevating her to the nation's highest office.

She touts her readiness to lead on day one. Does that mean that she is so eminently qualified that she would be the first President that would not have any learning curve in the position? Wow....she must really be something special.

The number one quality that I require in a President is integrity. Integrity is paramount. Because without it we can never know if this person says what they mean and means what they say. Certainly there is a long list of other important qualities that a President must have. But integrity is first and foremost. Without it all of their collective genius and skill are for naught.

Sen. Clinton's husband proved that to us.

This is why we have lost our way!

Today, America and the world witnessed a complete and total waste of taxpayers money and congressional time. This display amounts to fiscal malfeasance and represents a complete lack of fiduciary responsibility.

In fact, if corporate America spent it's time on these types of shareholder value wasting activities, Congress would be outraged and hold hearings on Capitol Hill and pass laws named after Senators and Congressmen.

What display am I referring to? The globally televised daytime drama called "Roids of our Lives." Today Congress spent several hours listening to Roger Clemens and Brian McNamee argue over whether Clemens actually used steroids and Human Growth Hormone (Hgh) or not. I mean they actually swore these guys in, called in the press, took their testimony and put these two guys on the grill.

How much money (our money) did they spend just to hear these guys say what they've already said at their own expense in the media? I'd day several million dollars at least of our money was spent just so congressmen and women could get some camera time. It is an election year after all.

What's worse is that nothing, and I mean nothing will ever come of these hearings. It is a complete waste of time, taxpayer dollars and congressional talent. I use the term "congressional talent" loosely. And yet Congressmen are walking around scratching their heads wondering why their approval rating is worse than President Bush.

What could their objective possibly be? This case will not go to court and if so for what reason? All they accomplished was getting someone to lie under oath. And now what? Ok, so someone lied. Should we stop everything else that Congress needs to focus on just so several congressmen and women can get camera time and catch someone lying? And how is this having a positive impact on the more pressing needs before us?

The reality of the situation is sad. It is even tantamount to the same fundamental reasons why illegal immigration is such a hot issue today. Major league baseball turned a blind eye to steroids for years. Why? Because as players lengthened their careers and set new records revenues rose. Period. When Sammy Sosa and Mark McGuire went on their homerun spree in 1998, it was truly a spectacle. And MLB made a ton of money off of it. They were sorry to see it end. I even started watching baseball. It became interesting.

I don't advocate or condone the use of illegal performance enhancing drugs, but if Congress really wants to investigate something, they can start with MLB and ask why they ignored a long term issue with drugs. They should not spend more than 20 minutes on it because as a taxpayer I feel that's all we can afford. Once the 20 minute hearing is over, I'd like to know that our employees a.k.a. our congressional representatives are actually working and earning their living for once. That would be a novel idea. Congress working on something worthwhile and not wasting time on steroids.

Do we want our heros using steriods? Of course not because it sets a terrible example for our kids who look up to them. But guess what? We've also got the more pressing issue of kids experimenting with meth, pot, crack cocaine, alcohol, and the list goes on. I'd like to see better enforcement of laws related to these drugs than Congress wasting our hard earned dollars to see if Roger "The Rocket" used the juice. I couldn't care less! This is why I work well into the month of May each year to generate enough taxable income so Congress can have enough money to chase steriod users!? If they'd stop chasing shadows I might only have to work until March or April to maintain the care and feeding of our elected representatives.

This type of irresponsible Congressional hypocrisy is why America has lost its way. We are busy chasing our tails and wondering why we are not getting anywhere.

Obama-can

I never thought I'd see the day when a black man became President of the United States. It was something that many blacks considered an impossible dream. That possibility took one more step towards becoming a reality today with Barack Obama's massive win in the Potomac Primary this evening.

The huge support for Obama in D.C., Maryland and Virginia were tantamount to a repudiation of Hillary Clinton. Even more impressive for Sen. Obama was his consolidation of support in his key demographic but also the show of new support from voters that typically skew towards Hillary. Obama scored big wins with blacks, younger voters and higher income voters as usual. But he also showed strong results with women, lower income voters, elderly voters and more white middle class voters. He took a huge bite out of Hillary's base tonight. She didn't even campaign in the Potomac. She left that to Bill who was last seen trying to be "brother" eating sweet potato pie at a black church.

Sen. Clinton is beginning to look increasingly desperate. The wheels are falling off her campaign as Obama has now won seven straight primaries over Clinton. She fired her campaign manager and today her deputy campaign manager resigned. Morale must be very low in the Clinton campaign at this point. Expect Hillary to start crying for the cameras again in Texas to shore up her base. There is even increasing evidence that Barack is beginning to attract more and more of the Latino vote. If that happens, I think Hillary can forget it. In fact, you heard it here first from the Brother on the Right...if Barack wins Texas, Ohio and Pennsylvania he will win the Democratic nomination and he will defeat John McCain in November. Sen. McCain simply can not stand up to the energy, magnetism, grass-roots support and passion of the Obama campaign. Obama represents "change" and a fresh set of eyes in the White House. McCain represents the familiarity of the same-old, same-old establishment. It would be a landslide for Obama. Millions of Americans would want to witness the history that generations before us never thought would happen. Obama can win.

Elections are largely about momentum and emotion. Barack's momentum is building into a gigantic tidal wave and I still don't think he has peaked yet. He has now even begun to attract conservative voters who don't like the idea of voting for McCain. I believe he is attracting some conservative voters not out of disdain for McCain but because these voters actually like Barack's message. These republican voters who support Obama are becoming known as "Obamacans".

As Hillary's campaign spirals downward, it will require a charismatic and effective leader to correct the downward spin and Hillary is not that person. It requires a "real person" with heart, integrity and desire to re-ignite the passion of the troops when things are going badly. I simply can not imagine her generating enough personal magnetism and charisma to rally her troops and get them fired up again. People want to vote for a winner and her base is beginning to jump ship for Obama. This behavior will soon stop being a trend and will become a pattern. Watch for Texas, Ohio and Pa. The road to the White House goes directly through those 3 states. Obama takes those states and Hillary folds. She will have to. She'll look around behind her and see two people holding "Hillary" signs. One of them will be Chelsea. The other will be an illegal immigrant holding an application for a New York State drivers license.

What about the Superdelegates? Couldn't Hillary still win with their support? Sure, if all of them go for her she could still possibly pull it off. However, her dilemma is if she does that, she will alienate millions of voters who are not happy that she pulled some trick out of her hat to win. She will reinforce the notion that she is dishonest and will do anything to get ahead. And then, get ready for President-Elect McCain. She will be through. For good. No one will trust her again.

Tough place to be in if you're Hillary. She'd have a hard time getting re-elected as a NY Senator and millions of illegals would have to go without drivers licenses.

How did it come to all this for the Clinton campaign? Hubris. Plain and simple. They assumed this was their election for the taking and they completely underestimated the guy from Illinois with the funny name. They assumed that their ability to dupe and fool the voters would work like a charm like it has so many times before. They never imagined that a black man could ever be elected President of the United States.

That's OK Bill-ary. Neither did many of us. Thank God we were wrong. Get ready for President-Elect Obama.

Hillary gets dunked on!

Did you ever see Michael Jordan or Shaq go up for a dunk and right as they were getting ready to drill the ball through the basket all of the would-be defenders scrambled and ran to get out of the camera shot? Well that's because no one wants to be on a poster in some 12 year old's room as the guy that Jordan is dunking on. It's not nice and certainly doesn't say much for your legacy when kids remember you for being the pasty looking guy getting slammed on while MJ is wagging his tongue.

Well, that's about to happen to Hillary. With Barack's recent string of victories, he is about to reach a tipping point of momentum where the tide of Obama support will become so irresistable that Hillary will do her best to get out of the way before her legacy becomes "The Dem establishment candidate who couldn't beat the upstart from Illinois." I bet her spin team is working on the sound bytes now. They'll pledge their support to Sen. Obama, blah, blah, blah. They've even started now by planting seeds that anyone but a republican is a good thing for the White House.

You just wait. With a few more wins Obama will take a solid lead in the delegate count and then the momentum will build. The Dems are looking for someone to get excited about and Obama has not yet hit his peak. He will hit it soon and then the Clintons will stop showing up at black churches acting like they care about black folk.

The tide is turning and the dunk is coming...she's about to run out of the camera shot. It's going to be a thunderous rim-rockin' dunk too. May even break the backboard.

Here's Barack taking Hillary to the hoop! I mean MJ...sorry! Just watch the videos for fun!

Would you rest the fate of your family in a can of pepper spray?

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state,
the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution

Numerous American cities and towns have banned ownership of handguns or guns in general. Their thinking is that if handguns are banned then no one will own guns in their fair cities. Yet major cities like Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Chicago and many others continue to fight handgun violence on a regular basis. What happened to this law that was supposed to protect people?

Aren't the handgun laws in place to ensure that only the police and criminals have handguns? If the laws were properly obeyed by the populace then that means that the average law-abiding citizen would have to rely on a functioning "911" system, or perhaps a can of pepper spray when assaulted by a handgun weilding criminal. And since all handgun wielding criminals are such kind gentlemen they believe in fair play and will always give their victims a chance to call "911".

Right...and I just saw a pig flying outside my window. Why don't law abiding citizens have the right to...well their 2nd Amendment "rights"? Doesnt' our Bill of Rights attest to our right to keep and bear arms? If everyone had their rights intact, I think some of these handgun murders would decrease. Once you level the playing field the bad guys have to think a little harder before they go around shooting people reaching for their pepper spray. Have you ever tried to spray that stuff into a stiff wind? Can you see asking a mugger to move downwind so you can spray without getting a mouthful of spray yourself?

Furthermore, I'm concerned about a government that want's to abridge access to my rights. I have no desire to use a gun illegally but I do have a desire to defend my family and myself if assaulted with one. What am I supposed to do? Call "911" and hope the operator is awake and on the job? Is the bad guy going to be fair and judicious and wait for the police to show up? I don't think so. I need to be able to defend my family in a similar or superior manner than the one I am being assaulted with.

After spending 10 years as a military officer I understand the concept of "Fire Superiority". It means suppressing your enemy's firepower with superior firepower of your own. Ya can't do that with a stun gun! Especially if your batteries are dead.

Having been shot at before and feeling the heat of bullets narrowly missing my head, I know the helpless feeling of standing there with no way to get the bad guy to stop shooting. It's a feeling that I don't relish. No one does. However, that experience taught me some important things: I know that if I had been able to return fire, I would have because while scared I did not panic and I had my thoughts and wits about me. I even saved the guy who was with me from getting shot. In the midst of bullets cracking around my ears I thought clearly enough to act and to help someone else. I was calm enough to return fire if I had could have. However, since I wasn't in a position to, I grabbed my bewildered friend by the arm and ran as the bullets whispered death threats in our ears.

Secondly, the guy that was shooting at me was shooting because he knew I had no way to defend myself and had he known that I was similarly armed...there would have been no gunfire at all! We might have had a conversation about our differences. What a novel idea!

A government that seeks to disarm the populace should be held in suspicion. Even our founding fathers recognized the need for well armed militias. They understood that the people sometimes needed the ability to defend themselves against...their own governments.

No, I'm not some militia nut looking to hole up in the hills with cases of Spam. They're kooks and crazies. But I do feel strongly that the 2nd Amendment bears protecting. Once you abridge a person's right to defend themselves in the face of danger, you slowly begin to marginalize them a valuable human beings and citizens in the land of the free and the home of the brave. It says..."the government is all you need for personal defense. The government does not trust your ability to know when or how to defend yourself. Leave that to us."

Friends, having been shot at and held up in numerous stick ups...I know that the government was nowhere to be found when I needed them most. Thank God for his providence and protection because without them, I wouldnt be here today.

Know your rights. Many have bled, died and sacrificed for us to have them.

Neville Chamberlain and Al-Qaeda

Lately, I am hearing an increasing sense of Americans wanting to "cave in" rather than resist and fight our enemies. I don't know if this is a widespread trend or is just based on a few recent observations that I've noted lately but, it seems that some Americans are behaving like some Britons were during the earliest days of Nazi Fascism.

During the 1930's, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain was a strong advocate of negotiating with Nazi Germany in order to keep the Germans from invading England. He was building up a coalition of compliant "hand-wringers" who were all cringing in a corner agreeing and saying "yes, Mr. Prime Minister, negotiation with the Nazi's is the best course of action." Can you imagine their knees shaking in fear as they contemplated the surrender of their personal freedoms and national sovreignty?

In those days, the Brits really did have something to fear because the Nazi's had ignored the Versailles Treaty and had built a formidable war machine since the end of WWI. Their military force was irresistable and matched by no other in the world. That League of Nations thing really worked didn't it? It worked almost as well as The United Nations. But I digress...

If Neville Chamberlain and his league of scaredy cats had had their way, the history of the world would have been changed. We might have all been speaking German today if they had successfully caved in to the Nazis. Thank God Winston Churchill was having none of it and aroused the national spirit and said "no way" to the Germans. Like our American forefather Patrick Henry, Churchill thumbed the British nose at the Germans and said "Give me liberty or give me death." Those weren't his actual words but they may as well have been.

Churchill became the British Prime Minister and the rest is history. Well, right now today in America, forces are at work trying to get us to cave in to the extreme, fundamental forces of Islam and "negotiate" or "begin a dialogue". Interesting. You see in order to negotiate, you must be willing to give up something to receive something in return. What are you willing to do without so that the towel heads will leave us alone? It's a rhetorical question but it could be a real one soon if the libs on the left have their way. They actually want to sit down with these guys and talk! The only language I want to speak to the Jihadist is spoken by the hot barrel of a machine gun or the end of a smart bomb. These people are committed to destroying our families and our way of life by any means necessary. They don't want to talk! They want to destroy. They're even training children to kidnap and kill. Does anyone really think they want to negotiate with us?

Here is their idea of negotiation: we all convert to radical Islam or die. End of negotiation. They have no middle ground. Convert or die. That's it. Are there really true Americans who are willing to give up our way of life just to survive? PLEASE! To think that there can be a productive negotiation with these radicals is absolutely ridiculous.

Are we willing to surrender our rights to worship as we please? Are we willing to surrender our rights to free speech? Are we willing surrender our daughters to harsh treatment of women? Are we willing to watch as our nation is turned into a wasteland? Is this what we are really willing to consider all in the name of survival? That's not living, that is a living death and NO I'm not willing to contemplate that possibility. I echo Patrick Henry's proclaim of "Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death!" I will not surrender the greatness that is America because of a few "hand wringers" who want to begin a dialogue.

I will not allow these Jihadist to have 1 inch of American soil in the name of negotiation. What would they surrender in order to get something from us? Nothing. They have no room for surrender and they are entirely uncompromising in their principles. We as Americans must be equally uncompromising.

We have stared fascism in the face before and won and by the grace of our Lord we will do it again. We will stand strong and not flinch in the face of Jihadists and terrorists. Give me liberty or...give me death fighting for it!

This is fun to watch!

Early news this morning proclaimed the Super Tuesday dominance of the Clinton campaign. By 9AM the casual reader would have assumed that the democratic nomination was well in hand. As the day wore on however, it became evident that Super Tuesday was not so super for Clinton and in fact she found herself hanging on to a draw. Clearly she won the biggest states but Obama won more states (14) to Hillary's eight. He also won more delegates overall.

Now at the end of the day, it appears that not only did she barely hang on for a draw but both campaigns are feverishly counting the total delegates needed for the nomination. By either account, the delegate count is slighty higher for Barack or at the very least he may trail by 5 or 6 delegates. See Story Here.

To make matters worse it is being rumored that Hillary may be experiencing financial troubles. Even her executive staffers are going without pay. Clinton even donated $5M of her own money in an effort to keep up with the Obama's remarkable fund raising.

It's possible that instead of the democratic nomination, the Clinton campaign is in real trouble. Read story.

What does all of this really mean? Well, The Brother on the Right thinks that we are witnessing the beginning of the end of the Clinton dynasty. Anytime, most of the democratic party and even solid middle America like Missouri line up to vote for a relatively little known black guy for Chicago instead of the sophisticated Clinton Machine it means that even the democrats have had enough of the Clintons. She can not win with her high negative numbers. Her polarizing factor is too strong. People either love her or hate her. There are no ambivalent feelings about Hillary. It's hot or cold. That's it. With Barack, he's got people who love him, people who dislike him and there are a lot of people in the middle. That means he has the ability to swing more of the "dislikers" and "people in the middle" to his camp than Hillary's ability to convince the "haters" to come over.

If the nomination comes down to McCain vs. Hillary, McCain will win hands down because of the extremely strong "anti-Hillary" sentiment among the people who are very much against her. No, droves of conservatives are not going to hold their noses and vote Hillary in a protest statement against McCain. People talk a real good one until they get in the voting booth. Conservatives would rather see their fingers drop off before they vote Hillary. Uh-uh. Ain't gonna happen. They'll either vote McCain or stay at home.

This leaves the democratic leadership in a pickle. See there is still the issue of the party's undeclared Super Delegates. Right about now, both campaigns have got to be burning up the phone lines in a mad attempt to get the support of the Super Delegates. The Super Delegates are hard line democrats who want their candidate to win. They know that Hillary faces a huge challenge to get elected and that Barack is showing some real chops. Real chops. If you're Hillary...scary chops. This cat can win.

Since Super Delegates are more likely to see their party win than a particular candidate, The Brother on the Right is thinking that they've got to be leaning toward lending their vote to the Brother on the Left. Barack Obama. Since these delegates get to hold their vote until the convention they could spring them at that time for a momentous climatic democratic convention capitalizing on Barack's popularity and hoping for a springboard to the White House. Can you imagine one of Obama's patented, highly inspirational speeches capping off the nomination? It could be emotionally powerful and connect him with many undecided Americans. Hillary does not possess that magnetism and ability to inspire large groups of people. Barack does.

Now with all that being said, there's virtually no ideological difference between these candidates. If either one wins, hold on to your wallet tightly and prepare for a re-write of our Constitution.

There has never been a more pressing and urgent time for all Americans to understand their rights because we may start losing them if we're not careful about what to watch for.

If I had to lean either way on the democrat side, I'd go with The Brother on the Left. For while I do not agree with any of his ideology, I do believe that he is not corrupted by Washington politics and that he acts with a sincere heart. He's sincerely wrong, but he believes he is right. And that will make a difference. Integrity and character wielded in the hand of the just are far more valuable than experience in the hand of the unjust. Don't look up that quote...I just came up with it:)

Hillary cries...voters vote...for her...again!

In yet another obvious attempt to gain voter sympathy and get votes, Hillary did it again today. Yep, she got the vapors and cried all over again for the cameras (and the voters.) Remember the night before the New Hampshire primary when Barack Obama was leading in the polls? What did she do? She boo-hoo-ed for the camera and the next day she won the N.H. primary. While I can't honestly say that the tears won the primary for her, I can say I believe they got her some votes.

Well here we are again. Her once comfortable national lead has evaporated, her once dominating lead in the Super Tuesday states is now deadlocked and she turns on the water again. I can't believe that she thinks the voters are so naive and simple-minded that they will fall for that AGAIN! Well, they obviously fell for it in New Hampshire, why not Super Tuesday?

I am stunned that this is the state of potential leadership for our country. Honestly, it makes me fear for America if this is the type of leadership we are in for. Just cry for the cameras and people will love you and your enemies will go away? What kind of absolute nonsense is this? This silly behavior is embarrassing to our country and denigrates our prestige. Our nation's sovereignty is at stake and all our would be president can come up with to get votes when she's desperate is to cry? That's HER PLAN?!?! God help us all!

Is this what we are to expect if Osama Bin Laden tells us he's got a nuke pointed at NYC? Just trot Hillary out with a box of tissues and hopefully that mean old nasty Bin Laden will just go away? Hey, Bush is far from perfect but at least he sent Bin Laden back to a cave!

I hope that voters have retained enough of their sanity to see the game Hillary is trying to run on this country. I'm glad the founders of this great republic can't see this type of foolishness. They would hang their heads in disgust.
